North America's leading motorsports magazine adds more pages and wider range of content in cover-to-cover redesign.
IRVINE, Calif., April 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning its 34th consecutive year of publication, RACER magazine today reveals its newest style and editorial expansion as part of a broader strategy to take the brand into the future.
The redesign sees a sizable increase in page count, now at 140 pages per issue, along with a front-to-back reimagining of the layouts and editorial flow to accommodate its expansion into a variety of motorsports adjacent topics like car culture, performance cars, car collecting and offroad. The new-look magazine features a bolder use of imagery along with a more open design style aimed at bringing standard-setting content to the forefront, conveying the vibrancy and intensity of motorsports and performance automotive culture.
"RACER magazine has always been central to our company and to our mission to elevate and celebrate the people, the cars and the culture of motorsports," says Editor-in-Chief Laurence Foster. "The print magazine landscape has changed significantly in recent years, but this iteration of the title demonstrates our confidence in RACER and the unique experience it delivers. Combining this new look with our all-new TV and streaming vertical platform, RACER and RACER Network are poised to lead the way for years to come."
"We're storytellers who live and breathe motorsports and performance, and just like the sport, we're always moving forward," adds Foster. "The result is a bigger and better magazine that delivers an authentic, expert and entertaining experience for our readers. This also provides advertisers with a potent touchpoint and remains a vibrant and compelling showcase for the world of motorsports and performance automotive."
As the redesigned magazine continues to show RACER's belief that print products are vital to a diverse media product mix, it coincides with the recent acquisitive expansion of the brand into broadcast television with the new RACER Network. Beyond these areas, RACER is also revitalizing its digital offerings with more platform reveals coming soon.
"When RACER debuted in April 1992, we couldn't have imagined the amazing journey this brand has taken over the last 34 years," says RACER Founder, President and CEO Paul Pfanner. "From a print magazine at inception to today, where there's a RACER product available at every touchpoint in the media landscape, we remain at the forefront and continue to deliver platforms and content to satisfy every motorsports and performance automotive enthusiast. The fan's desire for great storytelling serves them best at every level of their engagement with the sport and the products it inspires."
The new issue – No. 333 – suitably titled, "The New Challenges Issue," features wide ranges of captivating content.
Leading off with cover star Lewis Hamilton, the issue takes a deep dive into his energizing switch to Ferrari and asks whether the 40-year-old, seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, still has what it takes to land an F1 record eighth title with the Prancing Horse.
The new issue also showcases RACER's renewed emphasis on racing-inspired road cars, with a look at Ford's 'Ring-busting Mustang GTD, a no-compromise machine that doesn't just share DNA with the Blue Oval's multi-tier Mustang racecars, but rewrites the whole genome to spectacular effect.
RACER's new format also offers more space to highlight racing's hobbyists and motoring enthusiasts. Feature stories covering industry legends like racing photographer Larry Chen, will highlight personal experiences. In Larry's case, he was able to get behind the wheel of a Mini Cooper S in the ChampCar Endurance Series.
The desire for historical features has always run deep among RACER's devoted audience and the new RACER magazine format continues its legacy of placing the past within the context of today, as evidenced by the story of a multiple F1 champ taking on a fresh challenge with Scuderia Ferrari. Sounds familiar? In this case, it's Michael Schumacher's risky, yet ultimately hugely successful move to the storied marque in 1996.
Those stories are only just a start of a feature-packed issue that includes more content from across the spectrum of motorsports, on both two wheels and four.
RACER is published six times per year in both print and digital formats. To subscribe visit http://info.racer.com/subscribe
